Halloween

Well I haven't really felt like posting lately. I'm getting blog lazy and I'm okay with that right now. However, I feel like I'm letting people down so here's a little somethin' to keep you interested.

Halloween came and went faster than we planned. Our original ideas were awesome, but finding the perfect outfits just wasn't happening. Jake spent a month (one month too long) growing out his mustache just to dress up as Freddie Mercury and I was excited to attempt a 'Life on Mars' David Bowie.

It didn't happen, so you'll just have to realize the awesomeness of our ideas with these Google Images.

We were invited to a party on All Hallows Eve and had to find something in the house that would make a costume. Jake ended up going as a small time film producer and I was a manly construction worker. I have no pictures of that which is a shame....

The next day I went to work as a zombie. Easy outfit. I looked pretty good dead. My face was white with dark circles around my eyes and I had blood coming out of my mouth and my heart. The costume really felt like a disguise. I liked it a lot because I was able to act dead at work and get away with it. I thought to myself, man, people should really be allotted more dead days at work. It was like a relief from "business Cody" as Jake would say.

Then today at work I was helping out in a different department where I needed to wear a hat. I never wear hats-- and this was almost like a second disguise day. You can really hide a face under a nice big bill. Being in disguise is more fun than I ever gave it credit. I've started to wonder about Gothic people and the reasons they hide under dark shadowy hair and ghostly white faces. Maybe I'm not the only person who enjoys escaping from her real life for a day or two. Maybe Goths are more misunderstood than ever before.

These were just my thoughts the other day. Kinda weird. That's why I didn't really want to post. I'm not going Gothic or anything. This Halloween was just somewhat of an odd, eye-opening experience for me.

I, for one, LOVE dressing up. And you always come up with the best costumes! It's a pity you didn't take pictures... *B

Dressing up is fun!! Glad you enjoy it. Me? . . . Guess dressing up is at the temple every week. I am coming to the conclusion that I don't smile near enough at home. Everyone at the temple smiles. . . . Is that a disguise??
Love ya, kiddo! Ann
